Our Mission

•  We began in 1985 with a mission to

    "Redesign Technology for the Developing World".

    We discovered that when a technology was simplified,

    it often found a far broader appeal everywhere.

•  We are now focusing in many areas  (136 projects)

    especially in the area of core infrastructure

    concentrating only on the "bleeding edge" of technology

    ( in architecture, transportation, medicine, energy etc ).

•  So as not to directly compete with much larger R&D firms

    who would always be better funded and staffed

    we tend to work on matters that are hard to fit

    into a fixed timeframe and predictable budget

    and thus not appealing to mainstream R&D.

Our Philosophy

•  We look at crafting new ideas and solutions as a right-brained journey.

    We take a Systems approach

    rather than a paint-by-numbers objects approach.

    Invention and Innovation are not about objects.

    Solutions are about experiences.

•  It begins with the needs of the human experience

    based on their frame of reference and how current and near-future

    technology can integrate their needs and desires into new solutions.

•  For that we need to pull, not push.

    We need to involve the consumer in the journey.

    Together we explore the possibilities.
